The aftermath of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami after 8 years

Tomorrow marks the eighth year of the Great East Japan Earthquake. Eight years have already passed since the biggest tsunami hit Tōhoku. Victims still have difficulty restoring and reconstructing their lives after the incident. As we continue our life in the Netherlands, our memory of the incident is gradually fading. That is why we are going to plant vegetable seeds every day this year. What we can do for people living outside the afflicted areas is firstly "to not forget". By keeping the memories of that fateful day within us, our daily consciousness changes, and I believe it also leads to a change of society for the better. Today, we sowed seeds such as Rucola, Cucumber, Shiso leaves, and Shishito. We will continue planting tomorrow.
